Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park - 16 miles

Homosassa Springs State Park warm water spring is best known for its West Indian Manatee that gather here in the winter. You can observe them from boardwalks or in the underwater observatory called the Fish Bowl. You can also observe many birds and fish throughout the park.

Three Sisters Springs - 10 miles


Three Sisters Springs
are beautiful naturally occurring springs.  During the winter months the springs are home to more than 150 manatees. These gentle giants are a sight to behold. The 57 acre site also features restored wetlands that attract birds and other wildlife.

You can swim, snorkel or paddle at the springs.

Crystal River Preserve State Park - 9 miles

Crystal River Preserve State Park is Florida's most diverse estuaries. Here freshwater from spring-fed rivers mixes with the saltwater of the Gulf of Mexico. Most of the park is still untouched, allowing visitors a glimpse of what this area of Florida looked like centuries ago.

The park is a year-round destination for hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding and bird-watching.  

Crystal River Wildlife Refuge - 10 miles

Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge is the only refuge created specifically for the protection of the threatened Florida manatee, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee.  This unique refuge preserves Three Sisters Springs, the last unspoiled and undeveloped spring habitat in Kings Bay.
